Revealed! Crazed Office Worker Video IS A Fake

Current World News Comments (0)

Yesterday I blogged about the video that appeared to be CCTV footage of an office worker going mad and attacking colleagues.

Here, the team agreed it looked like a fake and now all has been revealed – it was a music video for Russian band Delta and part of a viral campaign for a new movie starring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy called Wanted.

The film’s director, Timur Bekmambetov explained: “The success of the video doesn’t mean the audience is gullible – it shows that people see themselves in this story.

“They see the truth – about themselves, about their suppressed desires and their need to break free. The video and the film are kind of therapy – they give you the experience of emotional release without having to smash up an office yourself.”

Ad campaigns are using more and more sophisticated methods for getting attention and causing a stir. This video pretended to be the kind of explosive real-life footage that can make sites like You Tube so compelling.

What do you think about the video – is it clever or dishonest? Take a look at the clip – and the other videos from last night’s Sky.Com News – below.

Check the blog later for more on tonight’s Sky.Com News at 7.30pm where we’ll discuss this and hear from Nigel Horne from The First Post.

The links for the videos and stories which will be discussed tonight are here.
