There’s a new world order emerging out there, and it isn’t the one Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Rove & Co. hoped their now-disastrous boondoggle in Iraq would have produced in a geopolitical tsunami that would have shifted the balance of power in the broader Middle East/Arab-Muslim region for generations to come, securing the United States’ hegemony within it (and access to oil from it) and, as an added bonus, in the radical-Republicans’ dreams, helping to secure their unlimited, unchallenged control of the U.S. government for just about, well, forever.
