Perhaps the UK goverment believs the US and Georgian intelegence 100%? Maybe UK govermnet learnt nothing about the Irag and the intellegence they got and gave to the parliament and the people? What does the UK has to do with this conflict? Of course we are the allies so we must bark at something if US does it!\n

How long have the USA and the UK been pulling out of Iraq plenty of black pots here to match black kettles .Why is so difficult for everybody to grasp that no country wants an enemy’s ally to set up shop on its borders and then be surprised and horrified by the ensuing tragedy? Have you also noticed that It is never the familes and friends of the politicians and fanatical leaders that die ? Time for the world’s ordinary hard working and generally honest people to put a stop to them and their bloodthirsty antics. The French had the right idea and got rid of their oppressors. Anybody got a spare guillotine ?

Pete, for a profit i must say. Countries let themselves to be bullied for a profit. Iraq, Vietnam …etc is a different thing altogether. Don’t forget a power like US has many submissive minions don’t need to invade, the Romans knew that!

Still thou, it only takes one mad general to disobey and loose a nuke, and Russia at least, has plenty of those ex-KGB idealists managing their armed forces. yeah, is war and business, but don’t underestimate the power of anger and conviction. I mean this east-west thing is old, ancient i’d say..! Governments fight for assets and power and to not loose face; men need an ideal to fight or you have got yourself a rebellion. Not so much in the west..

Matt, I don’t care if the ICBMs are out of date. A nuke is a nuke. I don’t care if NATO has 1000X more nukes, as long as Russia has enough, we all die. Of course, neither side is CRAZY enough to use one, even Bush isn’t that stupid, but I don’t take any comfort in that thought.

Now that Russia are withdrawing, perhaps America will leave all the countries that it has invaded, that it has bullied and where it is not welcome.
