Denver — Throughout Invesco Field Thursday were African-Americans who grew up in the Jim Crow South. They had to be here just because they had to be here. Many had been at the Rev. Martin Luther King’s speech in Washington, D.C. 40 years ago today. As one woman from Mississippi said, “It was almost like closure.”
