That’s the question that’s apparently on the minds of some foreign observers for whom Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin – Sarah who? – as his vice-residential running mate is just too ridiculous or too out-of-thin-air or too risky or too unpredictable to fathom. Still, some of the most well-informed, sharpest analysts of the American political scene are dutifully trying to make sense of the Palin pick and of the rash rise from the snows of Alaska into the national media spotlight of the inexperienced pol who only a few weeks ago famously asked: “[W]hat is it exactly that the V.P. does every day?” (Associated Press, cited by Fox News)
