Palin to Bay Area to Raise $$

The McCain Team isn’t wasting any time putting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on the hustings to raise cash for the party — and to excite the base.

And that even means here in the Bay Area — as in Woodside.

The invite comes from the McCain-Palin Victory California group — a joint fundraising group of the Republican National Committee, the California Republican Party, and the John McCain 2008 General Election Compliance Fund.

It says Palin will be the star at a $1,000 a head fundraiser ($2,500 if you want a special McCain-Palin lapel pin) luncheon in Woodside on Sept. 25.

That’s a busy week when she’s also fundraising in the Southland, including Orange County.

The organizers of the pricey lunch at the home of GOP backers Stacey and Tom Siebel suggests some guidelines for giving:

*”Chairs” of the event give or raise $50,000 and can donate a maximum individual contribution of $40,800, or $81,600 per couple. (The perks: ”a host committee reception for six, and three photo opportunities, 2 seats at the head table and and 1 table of ten for the luncheon, with priority seating.”)

*”Vice chairs” who give or raise $25,000 get a host committee reception for four with two photo ops, and a table of 10 with priority seating.

*”Hosts’ who give or raise $10,000 get a host committee reception for two with a photo op, and 4 luncheon tickets.
