Contestant Ceri Rees is keen to get through to boot camp at the third time of asking as The X Factor heads to Wales this weekend.

The Welsh housewife, 51, famously auditioned without her teeth in 2005 before returning in 2006. Although she failed to progress in the competition on both occasions, Rees appears before the judges with a new image this time around.

However, although her hair and clothes are different, her voice has not improved as far as Simon Cowell is concerned.

“Look Ceri, you look better but the voice has just got worse. You sound like a two year old when you sing. It’s impossible for you to win this competition,” he tells her.

“This is the third year and every year I say to you I like you, but you canÂ’t keep coming back and squeak these songs every year.”

The X Factor airs at 7.30pm on Saturday on ITV1.
