Courtney Love has been blamed for the demise of Nirvana by the grunge band’s former manager, reports NME.
In his book Bumping Into Geniuses: My Life Inside The Rock And Roll Business, Danny Goldberg claimed that Love became the “mouthpiece” for her late husband Kurt Cobain and contributed to his drug addiction.
Goldberg wrote: “Courtney’s very presence was a metaphor for the end of one era in the band’s life and the beginning of another.”
Goldberg also recalled his discomfort at having to deliver a package of $100 bills to Love that she planned to spend on heroin.
“Abruptly, the dark cloud of drug excess had entered the band’s life,” he added.
Nirvana fronted the grunge movement of the early ’90s but disbanded following the suicide of Cobain in 1994.
