Energy independence is the new foreign policy

McCain learned one lesson from his debate coach: Keep repeating that “Sen. Obama doesn’t understand” and mention his “naivete.”

They don’t have much disagreement on Russia. But Obama successfully links U.S. foreign policy to the need for energy independence.

Obama said, “Yes, that means offshore drilling” .. with the words coming out of his mouth like he had a gun to his head. Yes, nuclear energy and clean coal technology, too.

Obama said he thinks McCain believes in alternative fuel, but that McCain voted 23 times against alternative energy during his 26 years in Congress. “We’ve got to walk the walk, and not just talk the talk.”
