Green Day are recording the follow-up to 2004′s American Idiot album with Butch Vig, according to ex-Garbage singer Shirley Manson.

Speaking on Last Call With Carson Daly, Manson revealed that the group has teamed up with her former bandmate, who produced Nirvana’s Nevermind and Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream.

When asked if the pair will record another Garage album in the future, she replied that her role in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles may make a reunion difficult.

“I don’t know, to be honest. We’re sort of doing our different things. I’m doing the TV show, Butch is producing Green Day, so he’s busy, so we’ll see,” she said.
