Iranian mass medias report that wide trainings of air forces have been held in the Eastern Azerbaijan. The aim of the training was the preparation for the “air offensive against Israel”.

The maneuvers involved about 100 air force jets – old pursuit planes, produced in the United States in the 1970s and local Saegheh. The jets managed to fly about 1,200 km, which equals to a distance from Iran to Israel. The fueling was conducted by the help of Boeing 707 air tankers.

In turn, military sources from the United States reported that territories in Azerbaijan and in Georgia may be used for attacking Iran, when necessary. Trainings of the Iranian air force jets were held in direct proximity to the Azerbaijani border.
