Franz Ferdinand have announced that they are embarking on a UK Tour in March 2009.

The group will hit the road in spring to promote their upcoming third album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand.

The band, who are currently touring the US, have already sold out two low-key UK shows in January at small venues in Edinburgh and London.

The full tour dates are:

February 28 – Limerick, Dolans
March 1 – Dublin, Olympia
March 4 – Glasgow, Barrowlands
March 6 – Machester, Academy
March 8 – Birmingham
March 9 – London, Hammersmith Apollo

Franz Ferdinand release their new album on January 26. It is preceded by the single ‘Ulysses’ on January 19.
