Yesterday, at a pre-trial hearing at the military court the Bush-Cheney gang set up at the U.S. Navy’s base at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, alleged mastermind of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his four, co-defendant detainees who also have been charged in connection with those attacks surprised the uniformed judged who is overseeing their case. The five men, of whom Mohammed is the recognized leader, told the judge, U.S. Army Colonel Stephen R. Henley, “that they wanted to confess in full, a move that seemed to challenge the [U.S.] government to put them to death.” (New York Times)
