Electric organs, sombre synths and a variety of syncopated drum rythyms.
This is the song of swine flu, according to musician Stephan Zielinski who has strung up the virus’s two key proteins to make an algorithm that can be listened to.
Speaking to Current.com the US-based artist explained how he created the piece by “assigning instruments and musical notes to various properties of the protein.”
The result is a spookily atmospheric music number that could just yet prove to be a viral hit.
