First case of swine flu confirmed in Ireland

DUBLIN — Officials say the first case of swine flu has been confirmed in Ireland.

Ireland’s Department of Health said that the patient had recently traveled to Mexico. Health officials say he is now recovering well.

There are 15 confirmed cases of the virus in neighbouring Britain.
