Paula Abdul has denied the article in Ladies’ Home Journal in which she confessed to being addicted to painkillers and going to rehab.

The American Idol judge said on a radio show in Detroit that she did not check into the La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California for drug treatment as reported in the article, E! reports.

“It’s a spa. I was there for almost three days having fun doing spa stuff. It’s not a clinic,” she said. “It’s not a detox place, it’s a luxurious spa. It’s like taking a mini vacation, I just wanted to chill out and get messages, and maybe a manicure and pedicure.”

When asked if she would consider suing the magazine, Abdul said it was for “her handlers to deal with”.

A representative for Ladies’ Home Journal has said that the publication “stands by” its reporting.
