Ahmadinejad Challenges Obama to Debate

Chances that the U.S. president will accept this? Perhaps higher than the chances that the last commander in chief would — but still hovering around slim to none:



“Speaking to foreign reporters in Tehran, [Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad] recalled that the Islamic Republic of Iran had earlier invited the US president for debate on global peace and security at UN General Assembly.



‘If I am reelected in the upcoming presidential elections in Iran, I would like to renew the invitation to President Obama for debate on global issues, as well as world peace and security,’ said President Ahmadinejad. “



Ahmadinejad’s reelection on June 12 is all but certain since Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Iranians could not vote for pro-Western candidates.
