Mother dies trying to save bullied son from blaze after firework is pushed through letterbox

I don’t understand why I am being red-arrowed, and branded a Liberal. I most certainly am not one of those! All I said was calling people Murderer’s without factual evidence is a bit premature. Nothing more. Some of you should grow up, and learn to read properly, rather than spew all this hatred on these Boards….it’s most unhealthy!

Whilst very sad, I think that all the comments and accusations of ‘Murder’ are a little bit premature. It sounds like a Prank that has gone badly wrong, with devastating repercussions, but I’m quite sure that this was not the intention. Children will be children, as we all know. Calling for the perpetrators to be executed or jailed is not befitting of a civilised Country. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves and start screaming ‘Murder’ until this has been proven in a Court of Law.

Ok Sarah, you live in Aylesbury. Let the local feral youths know your full address in time for next year’s bonfire hight. If they come calling with a firework through your letterbox, try reasoning with them and joining with them as the enjoy their ‘prank’. Let the rest of us (the ones with brains) know how you get on…

This is so sad. I work with people with learning disabilities and this breaks my heart. I also live a few miles from Bodmin and i avoid the place like the plague, unfortunately such violent and disgusting behaviour is not uncommon from some of Bodmin’s residents. It’s a place that needs sorting!

Sarah Street, the same one that believes that poppies are old hat and so not 21st century as the war was so long ago now also believes that putting a fire work through some ones letter box is just a prank and children will be children.

Sorry Sarah this is not normal behaviour for your average child. Mine and all their friends wouldn’t dream of it and guess why that is, as parents we have taken our roles as parents seriously and taught them right from wrong. If this is proved to be a firework there is absolutely no excuse and who ever did it should be treated as a murderer.

Terrible tragedies like this are happening far too often

I hope those responsible are caught and very harshly made to pay for their crime. Regardless of what age they may be!! And not by taking the soft option either e.g. community service, suspended sentences, a warning etc. We let thugs get away with far too much in this country. God help us in ten years time if we let the yobs and bullies carry on taking over.

I also want to add that I would like to see fireworks only available to licensed (sp?} display organisers, not for sale to the general public and any unlicensed person found in possesion of them dealt with by the police……..this comment will probably not go down well with a lot of you!!!
