He who throws shoes will eventually get a sole aimed at his own head… or something like that. The famed Iraqi shoe thrower, journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi, who chucked a shoe at President George W. Bush (and missed) during a press conference with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki nearly a year ago, got a shoe chucked at him by an Iraqi at a Paris news conference yesterday. That shoe also missed al-Zadai — but the shoe-chucking wasn’t over with yet. More:

“The identity of the thrower – and his motivation – were not immediately clear.

But Al-Zaidi was able to regain his composure to joke: ‘He stole my technique.’

After Al-Zaidi had ducked the flying footwear his furious brother Maithan chased the attacker in the audience and pelted him with a shoe as he left the room.

The Paris news conference was held so he could talk about Al-Zaidi’s experiences after he was arrested and jailed for nine months for the attack.”
