The United Nations Security Council has agreed a range of sanctions against Libya, including an arms embargo and freezing the assets of Colonel Gaddafi.
The resolution also called for the immediate referral of the crackdown against anti-government demonstrators in Libya to the International Criminal Court in The Hague for investigation and possible prosecution of anyone responsible for killing civilians.
The 15-member council voted unanimously to freeze the assets of Gaddafi, his four sons and one daughter, and to ban travel by the whole family plus 10 close associates.
